Other Activities
Snowmobiling
Looking for a thrilling adventure (or just want the machine to do the work for you)? Try a guided snowmobile tour in the Wasatch’s vast network of trails from technical hill climbing to relaxed cruising in meadows. We highly recommend going with a guide due to avalanche danger. Some great companies to check out: Park City Peaks and Lofty Peaks.
Ice Castles
Day or night, Ice Castles is a beautiful place to explore in Midway, UT. Though man-made, it is a magical sight with small tunnels and archways to pass through as well as ice slides to zoom down for the kids. Visit the cute town of Midway, and book dinner in an Alpenglobe at the Cafe Galleria while you’re in the area.
Utah Olympic Park
In 2002, Salt Lake City hosted the Olympic Winter Games, and luckily for everyone we have some long lasting reminders of this wonderful event, including the Olympic Park. Watch local races, take a guided tour, go to the ski museum or even try bobsledding!
Cross Country Skiing
If you are wanting a bit of a workout with your winter fun, try cross country skiing. If you are just starting out, we recommend the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway - they have rentals and over 20 miles of groomed trails. Have your own skis? Try Millcreek Canyon which has a groomed road and can even take your dogs off-leash on odd numbered days.
